Background
Research

My primary interests relate to symbioses in the marine environment. I focus on photosynthetic symbioses between invertebrates (including corals, jellyfish, and anemones) and microalgae and seek to understand how these interactions will reorganise under a changing climate. I am especially interested in how symbiotic organisms with complex life cycles are integrated into the life cycles of their hosts and the key traits that are required for an ecologically successful mutualism.
