AIMS Strategy 2030 sharpens our focus on delivering impact to Australia.
Published in 2023, it guides our research and investment in tropical marine science to inform decision-making for government and industry to 2030.
AIMS Strategy 2030 builds and updates from the previous Strategy 2025 that was launched in 2018. It recognises the progress in achieving our strategic targets since then and the need to deliver more science and technology solutions to support the sustainable growth, management and protection of Australia’s marine environment.
The strategy is based on extensive surveys of our stakeholders’ needs, aligns with national and international priorities, as well as international frameworks such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Each element in our strategy is accompanied by a clear, measurable target that allows us, and the nation, to track our progress. These are reported as annual key performance indicators (KPIs) in our Corporate Plans.
