The Public Interest Disclosure Act 2013 (Cth) (PID Act) gives a right to public officials to disclose information about suspected wrongdoing in AIMS and other parts of the Commonwealth public sector.
The PID Act aims to promote integrity and accountability in the Australian public sector – including AIMS – by encouraging the disclosure of information about suspected wrongdoing, protecting people who make disclosures and requiring agencies to take action.

The PID Act provides a legislative basis for the AIMS Public Interest Disclosure and Whistle-blower Policy and Procedures (the AIMS policy).
The AIMS policy applies to all current or former public officials. The term public official includes AIMS’ current and former staff, member of AIMS’ Council, agents, contractors, consultants and the employees of its contractors and consultants. Disclosures under the AIMS policy must be made to AIMS’ Authorised Officer:
